In light of political rhetoric some fear is divisive, more than 150 people will be gathering in the Village of Ossining Friday to show they stand united. A Peace and Unity Vigil and Rally is being held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Market Square in downtown Ossining.

Westchester Communities, Colleges Set ‘Relay For Life’ Events

Hundreds, if not thousands, of folks will be lacing up their running shoes this spring all over Westchester to help fight a deadly disease. The American Cancer Society says that 13 Relay for Life events have been scheduled for May 20 through June 19. The community led events will be held in: Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Chappaqua, Harrison, Katonah-Lewisboro, the Tarrytowns, Yorktown, Yonkers, Somers, Ossining and the Hendrick Hudson School District.

A delegation of staff and scientists from Tarrytown-based Regeneron Pharmaceuticals recently visited Ossining High School to give their congratulations to the school's three 2017 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholars. Search On For Ossining Teen Missing Since Dec. 11

Authorities in Westchester County, New York City and elsewhere are searching for a 15-year-old Ossining girl missing for more than three weeks. Shilah Carter, whose is to celebrate her 16th birthday on Jan. 8, is believed to have run away on Dec. 11, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services .

On Monday, Entergy, which owns Indian Point, announced it will close the nuclear plant by 2021 as part of an agreement with Riverkeeper, an Ossining-based organization dedicated to defending New York's waterways.
