Sing Sing Prison Museum Receives $500,000 Grant

A $500,000 grant has been awarded to Historic Hudson River Towns, the lead agency on the Sing Sing Prison Museum. The Empire State Development grant is for continued work on developing a museum at Ossining Correctional Facility, according to an announcement by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo at a meeting of the Regional Economic Development Councils of New York State.

Snow, Wintry Mix Could Cause Hazardous Conditions In Ossining

A low pressure system moving through the area could bring a wintry mix that could cause hazardous driving conditions to much of the Hudson Valley late Sunday afternoon with some areas seeing accumulating snow. Temperatures will be cold enough for the precipitation to begin as snow in most spots, but it's expected to transition to the wintry mix and rain overnight into Monday morning south of I-84 as temperatures rise.

A modern roundabout may soon manage traffic flow at a busy downtown Ossining intersection, the Village Board decided in November. Though not a formal resolution, the Board voted 3-2 in favor of instructing the Village Engineer to move forward with a roundabout design over an updated conventional signal for the intersection upgrade.

One or more coyotes were spotted in Ossining on Monday and police are reaching out to an expert for assistance. A resident reported to police that she saw a coyote cruising around Mystic Pointe Condominiums, a gated community off Route 9 that boasts of a nature trail and Hudson River views.
