During Myers' seven-year tenure with the school district, she led Valhalla in ensuring community collaboration and the success of all students. "Leaving Valhalla is hard, but I am proud of the hard work of our students, staff and community" Myers said.
VALHALLA, N.Y. == After seven years leading the Valhalla Union Free School District, Superintendent Brenda Myers announced that she will retire in August. The Board of Education is expected to accept her resignation at its next meeting, according to a school district spokeswoman.
Students and staff at West Patent Elementary School brought a bit of holiday comfort to the families of ill children recently by providing them with Kids in it Together Care Packages and "Best Wishes" greeting cards. According to a statement from the school, the students collected toiletries, winter socks and snacks for the packages and readied them for delivery to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley, a facility that houses many families of children who receive long-term treatment at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla.
