Monday was the opening day for candidates to officially qualify for this year’s municipal elections and already a few races are beginning to take shape in Ocean Springs and Gautier. Among the early qualifiers are the incumbent mayors — Democrat Connie Moran in Ocean Springs and Republican Gordon Gollott in Gautier.
