Dashcam video: Opelika police cleared of wrongdoing in 2014 officer-involved shooting

An appeals court has analyzed the evidence in a lawsuit filed against the City of Opelika in connection to a 2014 officer-involved shooting and determined there was no wrongdoing by the officer. On March 6, 2014, Michael Davidson was shot by Opelika police officer Phillip Hancock after he exited his vehicle along Interstate 85. Davidson was holding his black wallet, which the officer believed was a gun.

Yoder appeals decision in GOP lawsuit

The attorney for Farmington Township Trustee Martha Yoder has filed a motion with the 11th District Court of Appeals challenging a decision to dismiss legal actions between her and Trumbull County Republican Party Chairman Randy Law. Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge W. Wyatt McKay last year dismissed Law’s lawsuit and countersuit filed by Yoder over whether Law had the legal authority to remove Yoder as party secretary.

Trump finishes Supreme Court interviews

President Donald Trump is done interviewing candidates to fill the opening on the Supreme Court, a senior administration official told CNN Wednesday. Trump’s four finalists, the official said, are Neil Gorsuch, who sits on the federal appears court in Denver; William H. Pryor Jr., who sits on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals; Diane Sykes, a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit; and Thomas Hardiman of the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.
