According to WFAA , the two planes collided mid-air near Aero Country Airport, in the 500 block of North Custer Road, just after 5:30 p.m. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman, Lynn Lunsford, said that ” both aircraft were flying under Visual Flight Rules and were not in contact with air traffic control at the time of the collision.” Police are asking people to stay away from Custer and Virginia as they investigate.
