Tommy LiPuma, a jazz and pop producer who once lived in Pound Ridge, died on Monday in Manhattan. He was 80. Born on July 5, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio, he left his job as a barber to work in the record business in Los Angeles.
The Nor'easter that swept through the area late Monday into early Wednesday mainly affected areas farther inland, especially north and west, with up to 26 inches reported in parts of Dutchess County. A new storm system that will arrive in the area Saturday will have the opposite impact, with areas closer to the coast, especially south and east, now expected to see 6 inches or more of accumulation.
