Iger ‘Open’ to Staying at Disney, Bullish on ESPN Digital Distribution

Disney CEO Bob Iger says he’s “open” to postponing his retirement, while he’s confident new digital pay-TV platforms will help declines in cable-TV subscriptions to the sports network. When asked on the company’s quarterly conference call Tuesday about a recent The Wall Street Journal report that he might extend his contract beyond a previously planned retirement date of June 2018, Iger demurred, and then read a carefully prepared statement.
