Cat rescue operations to continue on Monday
Although volunteers rescued 37 cats and a dog from a hoarding situation in a single-dwelling home in Sussex County during the last week of December, Darlene O’Connell, president of Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad , said her team of volunteers is ready to head back into the house to rescue even more. After rescuing the first wave of cats and a dog, a Lhasa/Apso/poodle-mix, from the home — O’Connell has declined to release the town of residence or homeowners’ name — O’Connell called for a week break to allow time to give the cats medical treatment and find local shelters to take them in since BARKS has only 15 cages.

Volker Haucke from the Leibniz-Institut fur Molekulare Pharmakologie has now been granted funding within the highly competitive Reinhart-Koselleck programme of the DFG to unravel the mechanisms of quality control that allow nerve cells and the synapses formed between them to function properly.
