A wrongful death lawsuit against Trinity Hospital and emergency room Dr. Jeffrey Sather is in the process of being settled. Melissa Ann Mandan, who lives in Mountrail County, sued the hospital and Dr. Sather after her mother, 49-year-old Jennifer Fyten, was found dead in her home on Dec. 25, 2013.

The Kano State government said it would soon begin disinfection of all poultry farms and markets as part of measures to curb the spread of the recent outbreak of bird flu in the state.
