Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who is appealing his suspension for his conviction on judicial ethics charges related to his stance against gay marriage, was recently awarded the 2016 Bill of Rights Award by the Bill of Rights Bicentennial Committee of Concordville, Pennsylvania. The committee announced the award on Dec. 15, which was the 225th anniversary of the adoption of the Bill of Rights, according to a press release Wednesday from Liberty Counsel, the legal group representing Moore.
