Is anyone else hearing Michael Stipe from REM singing, “It’s the end of the world as we know it?” The reaction to President Trump’s executive order on immigration and refugees has this 1987 hit ringing in my ears. The infamous order, still being litigated, bans immigration from seven countries for 90 days and refugees from those countries for one 120 days to implement “extreme vetting.”
