Boise River Flows Increasing to Flood Stage
The Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are again increasing flows from Lucky Peak Dam because of above-normal winter precipitation in the Boise River drainage. Beginning March 6, flows through the City of Boise will increase incrementally 250 cubic feet per second per day to reach approximately 7,000 cfs, which is flood stage, on Tuesday, March 7. These releases are necessary to help reduce the risk of increased flooding later in the spring, which can happen with rapidly melting snow and seasonal precipitation.
TID Closes Controlled Spillway At Don Pedro
The Turlock Irrigation District closed the controlled spillway at Don Pedro Reservoir this morning, one week after it opened. While the emergency spillway is closed, there will still be a heavy amount of water traveling along the Tuolumne River.

Region endures winter blast, with more on the way
A 60-year-old man died of injuries after he was struck by a snow plow in Bedford, a plow truck was destroyed by a fire in Boxboro, and the region was expected to be covered by more than a foot of snow as the second major storm in less than a week arrived on Sunday. A private jet owned by the Bank of Utah skidded off the end of a runway after an aborted takeoff at Hanscom Field in Bedford about 2:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration, but it was not immediately clear if that incident was weather-related.

Senate Democrats say they plan to offer a proposal Tuesday to spend $1 trillion on transportation and other infrastructure projects over 10 years in an attempt to engage President Donald Trump on an issue where they hope to find common ground.
