Pats lend plane to Florida shooting victims to attend rally

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is helping students and families of victims of the recent shooting at a Florida high school attend a march against gun violence. Patriots spokesman Stacey James confirmed that Kraft provided the team's official plane to fly families of the victims from the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, as well as several other students who were injured in the attack .

Baseball players in minors to lose minimum wage protection

Minor league baseball players who make as little as $5,500 a season would be stripped of the protection of federal minimum wage laws under a provision in government spending legislation expected to be approved by Congress this week. The "Save America's Pastime Act" is included on page 1,967 of the $1.3 trillion spending bill and appears to pre-empt a lawsuit filed four years ago in U.S. District Court in San Francisco by three players alleging Major League Baseball and its teams violate the Fair Labor Standards Act and state minimum wage and overtime requirements for a work week they estimated at 50-to-60 hours.

NY Post: NJ and NY should make a deal with Trump on Gateway project

In an editorial published Sunday , the newspaper urged Trump not to veto an upcoming spending bill over the Gateway project, which would rebuild passenger rail connections under the Hudson River between New York City and Newark, N.J. NC State gets grand jury subpoena for records from NY court

A North Carolina State spokesman says the school has received a grand jury subpoena from a New York court seeking records. Athletics spokesman Fred Demarest confirmed to The Associated Press that the school's office of general counsel received the subpoena from the Southern District of New York on Jan. 17.
