FIFA, Olympic official Sheikh Ahmad denies bribery claim

Asian Olympic leader Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah of Kuwait has denied claims made in a U.S. federal court that he paid six-figure bribes to FIFA voters. "Sheikh Ahmad is very surprised by such allegations and strongly denies any wrongdoing," the Olympic Council of Asia said in a statement issued on Saturday on behalf of its president.

Air Force investigating low-altitude military flight over Charlotte

Air Force and FAA officials are looking into a low-altitude flight by four military jets over Charloote, N.C.'s Bank of America Stadium Monday morning that startled residents and office workers. The pilots of the A-10 "Warthogs" were participating in routine navigation training from Charlotte to Moody Air Force Base near Valdosta, Ga., the base said in a statement Monday.
