Darien Police are investigating a boat accident where two vessels collided on the Long Island Sound during a Sunday morning outing, leaving one of the passengers with serious injuries. On June 25 around 9:45 a.m., a 36-foot power-operated sailboat collided with a 20-foot boat when the 40-year-old Jersey City man operating the sailboat - the lone occupant - left the boat running to retrieve an item below deck.

The United States Coast Guard will on Tuesday start interviewing the crew of a Philippines-flagged container ship which collided with a U.S. warship in Japanese waters killing seven American sailors. The U.S. coast guard investigation is one several into the incident on Saturday involving the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the much larger ACX Crystal.

An official from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the reports about a missing diver about 20 miles south of Cabbage Point first came in around 1 pm.

Coast Guard Crew Finds 4,000 Pounds of Marijuana on Vessel

The Cutter Haddock crew discovered 4,000 pounds of marijuana and two suspects on board a vessel located offshore and southwest of San Diego on May 18. At around 7 a.m. on May 18, the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Haddock crew received a tip that there was a disabled vessel located southwest of San Diego. The crew took the two suspects into custody and the vessel was towed to Coast Guard Sector San Diego, located across from San Diego International Airport.
