Under the Emanuel Administration, the city has graduated nearly 800 individuals through the Fire Academy, and 120 candidates are being trained at the Academy today.
A statewide fire chiefs group will put on a seminar next month to improve leadership and management among fire departments that rely on volunteers. The Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association is running the seminar June 3 and 4. Suffield Fire Chief Charles Flynn said any fire department officer can attend although the seminar is geared to departments that rely on volunteers.
