During an appearance on CNN's New Day Thursday morning, Van Jones suggested that "if Barack Obama had done half of what Trump did last week, he wouldn't be impeached, he'd be in Guantanamo." The New Day co-hosts had brought on Jones, a former Obama Administration official and host of CNN's The Van Jones Show to discuss the controversy surrounding President Trump and adult film star Stormy Daniels, who alleged that the two had an illicit affair a decade ago and was paid $130,000 in "hush money" right before the election by Trump's personal attorney.

What swamp? Lobbyists get ethics waivers to work for Trump

President Donald Trump and his appointees have stocked federal agencies with ex-lobbyists and corporate lawyers who now help regulate the very industries from which they previously collected paychecks, despite promising as a candidate to drain the swamp in Washington. A week after his January 2017 inauguration, Trump signed an executive order that bars former lobbyists, lawyers and others from participating in any matter they lobbied or otherwise worked on for private clients within two years before going to work for the government.

Jennifer Rubin: Presidenta s bag of tricks dona t work on Mueller

Trump is arguably the most thin-skinned president in modern times, and the slightest provocation will set him off on a tirade of insults, counterattacks, distractions and self-pity. He has called former FBI Director James Comey a leaker and falsely claimed the FBI was in tatters under his management.

Legalizing weed is ‘not a matter of if, but when,’ Booker tells NJ Cannabis Insider

Booker, D-N.J., said he has talked to a number of federal lawmakers of both parties, who come from states that have legalized the drug and are opposed to Attorney General Jeff Sessions' announcement in January that the Justice Department once again would prosecute marijuana cases in states that have legalized the drug. Under President Barack Obama, Justice officials said they would let states enforce their own laws while the federal agency focused on drug cartels, on transporting marijuana into states that have not legalized it, and on making sure legal marijuana businesses are not used as a cover for illegal activities, including selling other drugs.

What’s on GOP congressional agenda? ‘Not so much’

After last year's successful drive to cut taxes, what does the majority party in Congress do for an encore? The answer for Republicans seems to be, "Not so much." For sure, Republicans in Washington feel good about the effect their overhaul of the nation's tax code is having on the economy, and recent polling suggests it's getting more popular as the midterm elections draw closer.

Letter: Trump has qualities wea ve never seen before

Tom van Overbeek made a point that even if Donald Trump is a narcissist, perhaps nearly all our presidents have been narcissists. While perhaps not as knowledgeable about our presidents as van Overbeek, who thinks Gerald Ford and Harry Truman were probably the only exceptions, perhaps James Buchanan, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses Grant, Grover Cleveland, Calvin Coolidge, Dwight Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama and others were also exceptions.
