Michael was born Sept. 13, 1943, in Wellsville. He graduated from Wellsville High School, served in the US Marine Corps 1961-66 with an Honorable Discharge, and graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Secondary Administration.

Wally retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant after 30 years of service. He also coached pole vault at Reed-Custer High School and Olivet Nazarene University since 1990.

GOP adviser died of overdose

Republican media adviser R. Gregory Stevens, who was found dead in the Beverly Hills, Calif., home of actress Carrie Fisher on Feb. 26, died of an overdose of cocaine and the painkiller OxyContin, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. A spokeswoman at the coroner's office read to The Washington Times portions of the report, which was completed Friday.

The deaths of screen, music and culture icons have been huge contributing factors to why the general outlook on 2016 is a grim one, as with each loss fans took to social media to express the same general sentiment: "2016 is the worst".
