Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, this newspaper can today reveal a large rise in the use of private ambulance services, by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Between November 2015 and October 2016 the trust’s spending on this has rocketed from around A 341,000 per month to A 1.4m per month.
