Works by master Japanese ceramists to be presented at Crocker Art Museum

Beginning in January, the Crocker Art Museum will bring to Sacramento Into the Fold: Contemporary Japanese Ceramics from the Horvitz Collection, an exhibition highlighting the technical virtuosity of more than 40 artists, including many of Japan’s greatest living ceramists. Japan has an exceptionally long and distinguished history of ceramic-making, dating back to the Neolithic period, around 10,000 BCE.

The Man Who’s Flown Everything

An hour before the doors of the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center opened to visitors, the vast, multi-level space was filled with a theatrical pre-curtain hush. Only a few docents were here, getting reacquainted with the 170-some air- and spacecraft on display, machines that had made some of the most important history of the last hundred years.
