Senate agrees to waive most California Guard bonus repayments

The Senate overwhelmingly approved a defense appropriations bill Thursday that contains a provision intended to help thousands of California National Guard soldiers and veterans facing repayment demands for enlistment bonuses. The final version of the bill, which already has passed the House, was approved 92 to 7 and now moves to President Obama ‘s desk for his signature.

Ohio universities receive $8.5 million for high tech research

Public and private universities in Ohio, including Case Western Reserve University, received $8.5 million from the Ohio Federal Research Network to lead high tech research for the defense and aerospace industries. Alibaba Targets Thailand With Latest International Expansion Push

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak stopped by Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou during a six-day trip to China and signed an agreement with Alibaba’s Executive Chairman and founder Jack Ma to cooperate on e-commerce initiatives. New Audis can now talk to traffic lights

Audi has announced that select 2017 Audi A4, Q7 and allroad models will be able to communicate with Wi-Fi-enabled traffic lights that can inform drivers when red lights will turn green. Traffic Light Information, an Audi connect PRIME feature, was first announced in August; the automaker demonstrated the technology at a Las Vegas launch event this week.

AWS Expands Internet of Things Suite With GreenGrass Service For Real-Time Edge Applications

Amazon Web Services on Wednesday lifted the curtain on AWS GreenGrass, a new service it says will bring better compute capabilities for Internet of Things devices.
