One year since Marilyn
One year ago today we were graced with the presence of the beautiful eight-metre tall Forever Marilyn statue. The 15-tonne statue was the attraction of the town for almost six months before being dismantled on July 16 last year.

I remember when my dad would occasionally dig his old Laserdisc player out of storage so we could watch the original Star Wars trilogy digitally. He wouldn’t bother with it often, but until Lucasfilm finally released the movies on DVD in 2004, it was the best picture we could get at home.

NASA plans to search for ‘Star Wars’ planets
Some of the planets discovered around stars in our own galaxy may be very similar to the ‘Star Wars’ exoplanets like arid Tatooine, watery Scarif and even frozen Hoth, according to NASA scientists. Sifting through data on the more than 3,400 confirmed alien worlds, scientists applied sophisticated computer modelling techniques to tease out the colours, light, sunrise and sunsets we might encounter if we could pay them a visit.
