Democrats Lenvel "Butch" Robinson of Crothersville and Barry Stuckwisch of Seymour and Republicans Mark Hackman and Mark Pardieck, both of Seymour, are on the primary election ballot. The top vote-getter from each party announced the night of May 8 will move on to the Nov. 6 general election to determine who wins the District 2 seat.
Rose Acre Farms of Seymour, IN late Friday recalled 206,749,248 eggs because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella Braenderup, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems....The potentially contaminated eggs from the Hyde County farm reached consumers in ten states including Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia by direct delivery to retail stores and restaurants.
Started by the school's Renaissance program in 1996, the Wall of Fame is a way for the school and community to come together to promote and recognize achievements of past graduates and to celebrate the mark they have made on the world. To be considered a candidate for Wall of Fame honors, nominees must have graduated at least 10 years ago, have been recognized by their peers as highly successful in their chosen career field and have received district, state, national or international commendations or awards for their contributions.
All but one of the 16 official candidates are Republicans. For the moment, the sole Democrat is Steve Schoettmer, seeking the District 59 state representative seat held by Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour.
