A wind-driven wildfire is burning an estimated 2,000 acres and threatening about 1,200 homes in a central Oregon subdivision, prompting officials to put residents on an evacuation notice. The Akawana fire, reported Tuesday, is burning on private forest land about 13 miles north of Sisters, Oregon Department of Forestry officials said.
