Kavanaugh’s ‘beer’ obsession trends on Twitter

Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], Sep 28 : Hours after United States Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh raved about his love for beer during sexual assault hearing, the Twitter users went berserk making 'beer' trend on the micro-blogging site. During his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee about sexual assault allegations levelled by Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh talked at length about his drinking habits as a teen.

At U.N. speech, Trump suffers the fate he always feared

President Donald Trump has long argued that the United States has been taken advantage of by other nations - a "laughing stock to the entire World" he said on Twitter in 2014 - and his political rise was countenanced on the premise that he had the strength and resolve to change that. But at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump got a comeuppance on the world's biggest stage.

Deep state

On January 2, 2018, Virginia Senator Mark Warner released a tweet saying, "Slandering the Department of Justice's career law enforcement and intel professionals as the 'deep state' - whatever that actually means - is dangerous and unpresidential." It was only one of the more recent uses of the phrase, but one of the first to include the cautionary comment "whatever that actually means."

Ted Cruz: Restaurant Hecklers Hound Out Him, Wife

Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi were hounded from a D.C. restaurant while dining Monday night by a group of Brett Kavanaugh hecklers protesting the senator's support for the Supreme Court nominee facing allegations of sexual assault, The HuffPost reported . Video footage of the incident, posted on Twitter by an account called "smashracismDC," shows the activists confront Cruz in the restaurant as they chant, "We believe survivors!" In another video clip , a woman claiming to be a survivor of sexual assault asks Cruz what his stance is on Kavanaugh.

GOP To Trump: Do not fire Rosenstein

What seemed at first like a long-awaited opening to get rid of the "lingering stench" at his Justice Department now poses a quandary for President Donald Trump: Would firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein complicate precarious confirmation proceedings for an embattled Supreme Court nominee? It would, according to Republican allies of the President, who have urged him to hold off on a purge of Justice Department officials until Brett Kavanaugh is safely in place on the high court. For now, Trump appears to have listened, though he has made clear his desire to rid the agency of officials he has deemed disloyal and corrupt.

Trump unleashes on Kavanaugh accuser

President Donald Trump, in a series of tweets Friday, deviated from his previously measured comments about the woman who has accused his Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, claiming that if the attack she alleges "was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities". In a series of tweets, Trump threw into question the validity of Professor Christine Blasey Ford's accusations in the most direct way since the allegations against Kavanaugh came to light and said his Supreme Court nominee is "under assault by radical left wing politicians."

Collins: I Want to Hear Ford Testify Before Deciding on Kavanaugh

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire-Susan Collins's message to President Donald Trump appears to be keep your mouth shut and your Twitter feed silent when it comes to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who's accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault. And the Republican senator from Maine, speaking Friday evening at an event at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, said she believes that her GOP colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee should accommodate Ford's request to testify later next week, rather than on Monday as initially requested.

The End of Civilization

The storm of analysis and commentary over the Kavanaugh matter has reached Cat 5, but one of the standout articles today is Andy McCarthy's National Review column entitled " The End of Civilization ," which takes the story back to its roots in the Bork and Thomas hearings. My modest contribution was a Tweet yesterday posing the question, "Here's a great idea: Let's rerun the Clarence Thomas hearings but this time with 24/7 cable TV 'news' stations and social media! What could go wrong?" Given that all Twitter arguments become thermonuclear over time, over the next several days it wouldn't be surprise if Twitter's servers simply blow up.
