DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. - A Florida public safety officer was fired Wednesday following an investigation into a racially insensitive Snapchat photo that he sent in February, according to an order from the city.

A Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety officer was fired after he shared a racially insensitive Snapchat post, according to a press release. The Snapchat featured Moriarty with an afro and beard, alongside emojis of a gun, syringe and police car.
