President Donald Trump wants to reverse a trend of fewer children participating in sports and make youth sports more accessible to economically disadvantaged students. The White House is promoting the goals of the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition on Wednesday and will hold a field day with the president on the South Lawn.
In its first year of existence, the Vance-Granville Community College volleyball team will be helmed by Jessica Smith, per a press release by the school on Thursday. Smith was an all-conference player at Manteo High School and also played one season at Pitt Community College, a fellow member of the National Junior College Athletic Association like VGCC.
