Authorities resumed the urgent, dangerous operation of extracting a youth soccer team from a flooded cave in Thailand on Monday, a day after four boys were rescued. Eight boys are still inside the cave and along with the team coach.
POLICE ON the resort island of Phuket have arrested 2,415 illegal immigrants during a one-year period, but failed to hand over the majority of them to immigration police for deportation. The finding has led to deputy national police commissioner Pol General Srivara Rangsibharamanakul issuing an urgent order for police to apprehend illegal immigrants who are still at large.
Coordinated explosions targeting some of Thailand's most popular resort cities and beach towns killed at least four people and wounded dozens more. Police said Friday that 10 foreigners were injured in the violence, some of the worst in the country since the military seized power in a coup two years ago.
