Doj Sets its Tab for Ab InBev’s Big Beer Deal

Anheuser-Busch InBev and the Department of Justice on Wednesday announced a settlement that will give the global brewer U.S. antitrust approval for its proposed acquisition of SABMiller. With nearly all global approvals secured, the company says it expects to close the $106.1 billion transaction, formally announced in November 2015 after months of speculation, in the second half of 2016.

Dairy producers can enroll to protect milk production margins – 7:00 am updated:

USDA Farm Service Agency in North Carolina has announced that dairy producers can enroll for 2017 coverage in the Margin Protection Program for Dairy starting July 1. The voluntary program, established by the 2014 Farm Bill, provides financial assistance to participating dairy producers when the margin - the difference between the price of milk and feed costs - falls below the coverage level selected by the producer. The Margin Protection Program gives participating dairy producers the flexibility to select coverage levels best suited for their operation.

Tiny US territories use conventions to highlight culture

The area with the highest per capita rate of members serving in the armed forces can't vote in the presidential election. That distinction belongs to American Samoa, one of seven U.S. territories represented at the Democratic National Convention that can cast ballots in the primary but not in November.
