A former Shelby County town clerk was charged Friday for embezzling more than $8,000 last year, Acting U.S. Attorney Robert Posey announced. Prosecutors of the case said April Price Romero, 31, stole $8,752 from the small town of Wilton between Jan. 1, 2016, and May 17, 2016 during her time as town clerk.
