U.S. goes after Chinese firm for laundering North Korea money

The U.S. has moved to seize nearly $2 million from a Chinese company that it says laundered money for North Korea. The Chinese trading firm acted as a front company to quietly move funds through the U.S. financial system for Foreign Trade Bank, a major North Korean lender that's under sanctions, U.S. prosecutors said Thursday.

China Sends Aircraft Carrier Into Taiwan Strait, A Provocative Move

The Liaoning, China's only aircraft carrier, sails during military drills in the Pacific on Dec. 24. Taiwan's defense minister warned on December 27 that enemy threats were growing daily after China's aircraft carrier and a flotilla of other warships passed south of the island in an exercise. On Wednesday, the carrier traveled through the Taiwan Strait.
