Nine of St. Lawrence County's 15 legislative seats have contested races in the November election, while six candidates are unopposed, according to petitions filed by Thursday's deadline with the county Board of Elections. There will also be Republican primaries for county legislature candidates in Districts 2, 7, and 14 and a Democrat primary in District 14. The races will determine whether Republicans hold onto the majority they captured four years ago or whether Democrats take back enough seats to dominate the county Legislature.
