YONKERS TRIBUNE: Yonkers Democratic City Committee Endorse Candidacy of Council member Shanae Williams for Westchester County Clerk and Former Police Chief Timothy Hodges to Represent Council District 6

Twenty-four hours after notice of the meeting was divulged, the leadership met and two candidates have won the party’s endorsement.Yonkers City Council member Shanae Natalee Williams, representing District 1 was endorsed by the party to launch her effort for Westcheste rCounty Clerk.

Incumbent Clerk Tim Idoni was not expected to seek re-election; he has evidently changed his mind. Ms. Williams and Mr. Idoni are both Democrats.

At present, there are no known Republican challengers.

Recently retired Yonkers Police Department Chief Tim Hodges was endorsed by the Yonkers Democratic City Committee as their candidate to represent Yonkers City Council District 6. Mr. Hodges’ opponent will be present Yonkers City Councilman Anthony Merante.

Mr. Hodges is a Democrat; Mr. Merante is a Republican.

No other candidate has announced for these political positions.
