Defence: Killer of 2 is star witness, not Aaron Hernandez-Image2

The real killer of two men in a hail of gunfire at a stoplight was not former NFL star Aaron Hernandez but rather the government’s star witness in his double murder trial, his attorney charged Wednesday in opening statements, revealing the defence strategy for the first time. Jose Baez, who is known for winning an acquittal for Florida mom Casey Anthony, said prosecutors want to convict his client so badly that they made “a deal with the devil.”

The Buena Vista High School Girl’s Basketball Team qualified for the State Tournament regional play round in a non-traditional manner when they ended up number 30 in the final RPI rankings. After losing in the pig-tail round of the district tourney and watching as the other teams played out the final rounds of the tournament they ended up a ahead of several of the other teams in the rankings.

Report: Bolts forward Filppula turned down trade to Toronto

Earlier this week, the Maple Leafs and Lightning completed a deal that sent Brian Boyle to Toronto for Byron Froese and a second round draft pick, but according to a report from TVA Sports’ Renaud Lavoie, the trade could have been a lot bigger. Andy Carroll returns to training with West Ham
