B.C. Lions sign former Argos kicker Swayze Waters as Leone’s replacement
The B.C. Lions have signed American kicker and punter Swayze Waters to a one-year contract, the club announced Tuesday. Waters won a Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 and was named the CFL’s top special teams player in 2014.

Stamps bring back national DB Rwabukamba
The Calgary Stampeders have signed national defensive back Chris Rwabukamba. A six-year CFL veteran, Rwabukamba spent the final three weeks of the 2016 season on the Stampeders’ practice roster.
Saints sign two players out of the CFL
After adding defensive backs Delvin Breaux and Erik Harris out of the CFL the last two seasons, the team went back North on Wednesday evening and signed linebacker Adam Bighill and defensive back Forrest Hightower out of the league. A five-time CFL All-Star, Bighill, 28, has recorded 489 tackles, 33 sacks, eight interceptions and eight forced fumbles over 99 games in the CFL.
B.C. Lions grant Richie Leone early free-agent status to pursue NFL contract
The B.C. Lions announced Tuesday they have granted punter Richie Leone early free-agent status to pursue a contract in the NFL. The 24-year-old, who joined the Lions in 2015, was a CFL West Division all-star the last two seasons.
