Sure shot: Cavs acquire Korver, complete deal with Hawks

Two days after agreeing to the deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers completed a trade with Atlanta for Kyle Korver, one of the league’s best 3-point shooters, who will be able to spot up on the perimeter and wait for LeBron James to pass him the ball. The Cavs sent forward Mike Dunleavy, guard Mo Williams, cash and a protected future first-round draft pick to the Hawks for Korver, a 14-year veteran whose ability to come off screens and deep range challenges defenses.

The first round of NBA All-Star game voting results came out yesterday, and a subject of much discussion was the relative rankings of the Raptors back court. With DeMar DeRozan in third place behind Dwayne Wade and Kyrie Irving, there’s certainly a case to be made that he should at least be ahead of Wade, especially given his early season scoring outbursts.

James Harden scored 26 points and Nene made two free throws with 0.7 seconds remaining to lift the Houston Rockets to their sixth straight win, 118-116 over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. Nene was fouled by Jerami Grant as he attempted a shot right under the basket, setting up the winning free throws.

Aldridge leads Spurs to 127-99 win over Nuggets

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 28 points, including 11 while sparking a third-quarter spurt, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Denver Nuggets 127-99 on Thursday night. Kawhi Leonard added 24 points, while Tony Parker had 21 and a season-high nine assists for the Spurs, who improved to 17-3 on the road this season.

Bledsoe has 26, Suns pull away late from Mavericks, 102-95

Eric Bledsoe scored 26 points, including five straight to break a tie in the final two minutes, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Dallas Mavericks 102-95 on Thursday night. Devin Booker added 22 points as the Suns won consecutive games for just the second time this season and denied the Mavericks their third two-game winning streak in a matchup of Western Conference also-rans.
