Chris Driedger made 25 saves and Francis Perron put his team ahead for good as the Binghamton Senators downed the visiting Toronto Marlies 3-1 on Wednesday in American Hockey League action. Kasperi Kapanen made it 1-0 for the Marlies at 17:21 of the first period, but Ben Harpur responded for Ottawa’s AHL partner a little over a minute later to tie it after 20 minutes.

Nazem Kadri scored twice, Frederik Andersen stopped 38 shots for his first shutout this season and the Toronto Maple Leafs routed the last-place Colorado Avalanche 6-0 on Thursday night. Auston Matthews scored his team-leading 16th goal to get the Maple Leafs started in the first period.

Ex-Nanny for Penguins Player in Pennsylvania Gets 5-Year Federal Sentence

The former nanny of Pittsburgh Penguins player Chris Kunitz was sentenced Tuesday to five years in federal prison for setting fire to her rental residence and then filing fraudulent insurance claims for the contents. The public defender for Andrea Forsythe, 28, unsuccessfully sought a term running concurrently to one she’ll receive next month for thefts from the Penguins player and other people for whom she worked as a nanny.
