Michael Carrick to receive all-star Man Utd testimonial

Carrick has helped United win five Premier League titles and a Champions League crown during his time at the club, which will be marked on June 4 as Old Trafford plays host to his testimonial. And the north-west side will honour him with a match between a Manchester United 2008 XI and a Michael Carrick All-Stars team.

Scholes tells Man Utd: Give Carrick a new deal

The former United midfielder has insisted that his old team-mate should be kept on for another year beyond the 2016-17 campaign Paul Scholes says he wouldn’t hesitate offering Michael Carrick a new one-year contract at Manchester United if he was the man in charge at the club. Carrick was given a one-year deal by United last summer in one of Jose Mourinho’s first decisions upon taking over from Louis van Gaal at Ol Trafford.
