Chicago Bears reportedly fill need at safety by agreeing to terms with Quintin Demps

The Bears have added a veteran safety for the second time in three offseasons, agreeing to terms on a three-year deal with Quintin Demps averaging $4.5 million per year, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Demps, who turns 32 in June, played in and started 13 games for the Texans last season and had six interceptions to go along with nine passes defensed and 55 tackles.

A tribute to Dawk

Our beloved Brian Dawkins got snubbed for the Hall of Fame. I think he absolutely deserved to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and he was denied that opportunity in favor of Jason freakin’ Taylor and Morten Andersen! The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Canadian Football League cornerback Mitchell White to a reserve/futures contract, according to an official announcement from the team. The 26-year-old cornerback measures in at 5-11, 183 pounds.

Could Eagles target Giants’ Victor Cruz in free agency?

There is a strong possibility that the Giants will release wide receiver Victor Cruz this offseason, as he holds a cap hit of $9.4 million next season, but only $1.9 million in dead cap space if he was released.
