Just two days after posting one of their most impressive wins of the season over the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, the Portland Trail Blazers followed that up with one of their most frustrating losses of the 2016-17 campaign: Portland spotted the visiting Magic a 17-point lead early, battled back to take a five point lead in the second half but couldn’t hold on, falling to an Orlando team that entered Friday’s game on a four-game losing streak. It was just the latest head-scratching loss for a Blazers team still struggling to find consistency entering the second half of the season.

Sure shot: Cavs acquire Korver, complete deal with Hawks
Two days after agreeing to the deal, the Cleveland Cavaliers completed a trade with Atlanta for Kyle Korver, one of the league’s best 3-point shooters, who will be able to spot up on the perimeter and wait for LeBron James to pass him the ball. The Cavs sent forward Mike Dunleavy, guard Mo Williams, cash and a protected future first-round draft pick to the Hawks for Korver, a 14-year veteran whose ability to come off screens and deep range challenges defenses.

Kawhi Leonard added 24 points, while Tony Parker had 21 and a season-high nine assists for the Spurs, who improved to 17-3 on the road this season.

Kevin Durant scored 34 points in another efficient performance from the floor, Stephen Curry added 19 points with five 3-pointers and the Golden State Warriors quickly ran away from the overmatched Portland Trail Blazers in a 135-90 win Saturday night. Durant shot 11 for 13 with four 3s in his seventh 30-point game and also pulled down 11 rebounds in nearly 31 minutes.
