Aspen Snowmass, for the seventh year in a row, is scheduled to host the Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race Saturday, Feb. 25. For athletes not quite ready to take on the full course, participants have the option to race the Power of Two that covers the last two mountains of the full route, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain. The Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race is the winter edition of the Power of Four series that includes both a bike and run race in the summer.

In another show of force, central Ohio divers marched to the awards podium after the Division I girls state meet Thursday as if they had transported from the pool by truck. Standing tallest after the medal ceremony was sophomore Maycey Vieta of Gahanna, who had the competition of her life to win the big-school championship, giving central Ohio divers six titles in the past seven years in the event. Vieta scored 455.45 points over 11 dives on the 1-meter springboard to edge 2016 champion and Ohio State Diving Club teammate Nikki Watters of New Albany by 8.05 points for the title at C.T. Branin Natatorium.

She was driving an ATV on her family’s property Feb. 5 when she veered into a pond while trying to avoid a ditch and almost drowned.
