Honda Announces 2017 MotoAmerica Superbike Team

An informal gathering at the American Honda Race Shop in Torrance, CA revealed some big road-racing news today. With Honda Racing Senior Manager Mike Snyder, MotoAmerica ‘s Wayne Rainey, team owner Danny Walker, and 2015 Superstock 1000 champion Jake Gagne on hand, the announcement was made that Honda will field an entry in the MotoAmerica Superbike class for the 2017 racing season.

Prius Challenge at Sonoma Raceway

The Toyota Research Institute is bringing the Prius Challenge to Sonoma Raceway for the third iteration of its ongoing Onramp series, an innovation event designed to engage the startup and tech community. This year’s event, to be held on March 3, will be hosted by Toyota Research Institute and will feature a team competition where participants optimize their driving based on data and simulation from a connected Toyota Prius.

Grapplers host SCL tourney

The meet gets under way at 10 a.m. and should last until about 4 p.m. Sonoma finished second to Petaluma – by a single point – in the regular season, and if the Dragons win the meet, they’ll be co-champions with the Trojans. The top three finishers in each weight class Saturday will advance to the North Coast Section meet in Hayward next weekend.

Ella Hendricks scored three of her six goals in the fourth period, lifting Cate to a 12-9 victory over visiting Chadwick in a CIF-Southern Section Division 7 girls water polo first-round playoff game on Tuesday. Hendricks gave Cate a 9-8 lead at 6:33 of the fourth period, but Chadwick answered a minute later when Ruby Wheeler scored her sixth goal of the game to tie it.
