Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was named the NFL Coach of the Year by the Pro Football Writers Association after leading his team to 13-3 record, including a club-record 11-game winning streak. Now with that award in his pocket, Garrett should be the favorite for AP NFL Coach of the Year honors, which will be announced the night before the Super Bowl.

Bitrus Bewarang, the National Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation , says the Federation wants to persuade 19-year-old Everton FC striker Ademola Lookman to play for Nigeria rather than England. He has already played for the England Under-19s and U-20s but can switch allegiances because he is yet to play for the senior side.

The 23-year-old Argentinian has yet to make a league appearance for City since joining in 2014 from Racing Club and has spent the interim period on a succession of loan deals, including stints at Valencia, Middlesbrough and AEK Athens.
