Sat in a consultant’s room, she went into shock as she was told she had an aggressive and fast-growing form of cancer, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that had already spread around her body and would likely prove fatal. But 10 years on, the 69-year-old is cancer-free and thanks one person in particular for saving her life.
