Ten people were displaced and a dog died after a fire ripped through a North Park home early Monday, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said. The first crew pulled up about 12:30 a.m. on Polk Avenue near Illinois Street to find the single-family home fully engulfed, with “heavy fire coming from every window in the house,” Battalion Chief David Gerboth said.
