A traffic collision involving five vehicles forced the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig-alert and close multiple lanes of Interstate 680 Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. The crash was reported just before 2 p.m., and officers responded to southbound I-680 lanes near the Concord Boulevard off-ramp, CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.
