Nevada Republican Dean Heller has filed to run for re-election to the U.S. Senate, formally setting the stage for one of the country's highest profile Senate races in the midterm elections. Heller is considered one of the most vulnerable Republicans running for re-election in the Senate this year.
A bill that would limit the use of a long-standing perk by federal lawmakers - taxpayer-funded mailings - was introduced Thursday by Rep. Jacky Rosen of Nevada. Rosen coined her bill the No Free Campaigns for Congress Act of 2018 and would cap the amount of taxpayer dollars to be spent on so-called franked mail at $10,000 per member annually.
