A Centerville man convicted in 2015 of killing his 23-year-old pregnant girlfriend is seeking a new trial on the grounds that the cellphone location data used to convict him was obtained illegally. Quoizel Wilson initially appealed his conviction a week after a Barnstable Superior Court jury found him guilty in May 2015 of first-degree murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and improper disposal of a body in the death of Trudie Hall of Nantucket.
The U.S. Coast Guard airlifted a 76-year-old man from the cruise ship Silver Muse Thursday approximately 80 miles south of Nantucket. A crewmember aboard the cruise ship contacted Coast Guard watchstanders via satellite phone at about 9:30 a.m. reporting one of their passengers was experiencing symptoms of paralysis and needed further medical treatment.

The question has dogged Chelsea Manning ever since she walked out of prison four months ago - nearly three decades short of a 35-year sentence, courtesy of a commutation from Barack Obama in the last days of his presidency. Is she a traitor? Had the Army private betrayed her country in 2010, when she passed tens of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks? Or had Manning, as many believe, demonstrated loyalty to the American public by exposing its government institutions? At least once, the question was put to Manning herself.
It was nice to see U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan in Massachusetts last Thursday, visiting with the owners and workers at the New Balance factory in Lawrence. Any high-ranking Republican leader with the guts to come to one of the bluest states in the nation is clearly a true American patriot.
Aurora recently partnered with OCEARCH, a marine conservation organization, to provide aerial support locating and tracking great white sharks off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts. The Centaur optionally piloted DA-42 aircraft flew above the expedition area in a predetermined flight pattern to help scientists aboard the OCEARCH ship target, identify and track the location of the sharks in real time.
