Aldermen approved the acceptance of a Mississippi Environmental and Infrastructure Protection and Development Program grant, funded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, during their meeting Tuesday. The grant will provide a total of slightly more than $1 million, with a 75-25 percent match -- the grant will pay about $750,000 and the city will pay about $250,000.

Republican County Chairwoman Marnita Henderson said anyone unable to get to the polls can call her at 662-418-4997, and she will help coordinate rides.
The Oktibbeha County Circuit Clerk's election office released the sample ballot in October, ahead of the general election Tuesday. The county ticket lists candidates for president and vice president; two U.S. House of Representatives districts; Mississippi Supreme Court seats; two appellate court seats; five local election districts and a Starkville-Oktibbeha school board seat.
